grow. products from genetically modified plants. 2001

Inspired by a species of ant that has abandoned nest building in favour of occupying a living house formed by a spontaneously growing fungus system, phænotyp AG has developed a process using specific genetic manipulation to breed plants to take the place of industrially manufactured products. The principle is simple: the plants' appearance and properties can be altered by changing the genetic information or by transgenic combination of several living things. Living furniture, lighting or buildings can thus be produced. Then there are support products that are involved in plant modification during growth. These include nutrient media and injection with nutrient solutions. Breeding is taking over from industrial production.
